PRP - Platelet Rich Plasma

(Starting from R2500)

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is a revolutionary new treatment for a variety of medical conditions. It is a form of regenerative medicine that uses the patient’s own blood to help heal and regenerate damaged tissues. PRP therapy works by concentrating the platelets in the patient’s own blood and then injecting them into the affected area. The platelets contain healing proteins and growth factors that promote tissue regeneration and healing.

PRP therapy is used to treat a variety of conditions such as;

  • tendonitis
  • arthritis
  • ligament injuries
  • muscle tears and
  • chronic pain.

For aesthetic purposes, we can use PRP to

  • treat hair loss
  • acne scars
  • fine lines and wrinkles
  • improving skin texture and thickness.

The procedure itself is relatively simple. A sample of the patient’s blood is drawn and placed in a centrifuge to separate the platelets from the other blood components. The platelets are then concentrated and injected into the affected area.

The benefits of PRP therapy are numerous. It is a relatively safe and non-invasive procedure with minimal risk of infection or allergic reactions.

Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers

(Price on request)

Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are a popular choice for people looking to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and other signs of aging. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body that helps to keep skin hydrated, firm, and supple. Dermal fillers are a type of injectable treatment that contain hyaluronic acid. The hyaluronic acid is injected into the targeted area, where it binds with water to create a smooth, plump, and youthful appearance.

The effects of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are temporary, and the results can last anywhere from six months to two years. During the treatment, the filler is injected into the skin, where it binds to water molecules, creating a cushion that helps to smooth and plump the skin. This cushion helps to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, as well as providing a more youthful, refreshed look.

PRECARE (Before treatment)

  • One week prior to your filler injection, we advise you to avoid using alcohol, garlic and/or aspirin, or any other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines for pain, swelling and/or fever, such as medicines containing diclofenac, mefenamic acid, indomethacin or ibuprofen – ask your doctor or pharmacist whether your medication includes any of these ingredients. Following these instructions will reduce the risk of bruising or bleeding at the point of injection.
  • If this is your first visit, you will need to provide your medical doctor with information on your medical history and any current problems, as well as details of any allergies you have or medications you are taking. There is no need for an allergy test, unless your medical practitioner feels it’s necessary.

POSTCARE (After treatment)

Because the filler injectable gel is a non-surgical treatment, there is minimal recovery time.

  • For the first 24 hours following treatment, you should avoid: strenuous exercise, excessive sun or heat exposure, alcoholic beverages and extreme facial expressions, in order to help minimize the risk of temporary redness, swelling and/ or itching.
  • For 2 weeks after treatment please avoid: extreme sun exposure, UV light, freezing temperatures and saunas.

Botulinum Toxin (trade names Botox/ Dysport)

(Price on request)

Botox is a powerful neurotoxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum. It is used in small doses as a cosmetic treatment to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Botulinum toxin works by temporarily paralyzing the facial muscles that cause wrinkles, allowing the skin to relax and appear smoother.

Botulinum toxin is injected directly into the muscle that causes the wrinkle, and the effects are usually visible within a few days. The effects of Botulinum toxin typically last for about three to four months, and the procedure can be repeated as needed. Botulinum toxin is a safe and effective treatment for wrinkles. It is important to note, however, that Botox is only effective for wrinkles caused by muscle movement i.e dynamic wrinkles. It does not work for wrinkles caused by sun damage or aging (static wrinkles).

In addition to its cosmetic uses, Botulinum toxin is also used to treat a variety of medical conditions, such as

  • chronic migraines
  • excessive sweating
  • muscle spasms
  • certain eye conditions, such as strabismus and blepharospasm.

Overall, Botulinum toxin is a safe and effective treatment for reducing the appearance of wrinkles. It is important to consult with a qualified doctor before undergoing any cosmetic procedure, however, to ensure that the treatment is appropriate for you.

POST-CARE (After treatment)

The aesthetic effects of botulinum toxin last for an average of 3-4 months but will vary depending on the condition of the skin, area treated, amount of product injected, injection technique and lifestyle factors such as sun exposure and smoking. Results of your treatment may take up to 14 days to take full effect.

After treatment:

  • For 4 hours – do not lie down or do “strenuous” exercise and similar activities, nor should you do anything that increases

the blood flow to the injection area

  • For 12 hours – avoid extreme facial expressions, alcohol consumption, and applying make-up
  • For 24 hours – do not rub or massage the treated areas as this could influence the effect of the product
  • For 2 weeks – avoid direct sun exposure, UV light, freezing temperatures and saunas

Thread lifting with polydioxanone (PDO) threads

(Starting from R2000)

What is Thread Lifting?

PDO thread lifting is a relatively new technique used in facial rejuvenation. It involves the use of dissolvable sutures (stitches) made from polydioxanone (PDO) that are inserted into the skin and act like a mini face lift. The sutures are placed in a specific pattern to lift and reposition the skin, creating a more youthful appearance. The threads provide an immediate lift, but also stimulate collagen production over time for more lasting results.

The procedure is minimally invasive and typically takes only 30 minutes to complete. It is safe and effective, with minimal downtime, and can be used to treat sagging skin in the face, neck, and brow area. The threads can also be used to fill out hollow areas in the face, such as cheeks, temples, and lips.

PDO threads in jawline

Local anaesthetic is used in this procedure. PDO threads are inserted into the skin using a thin needle. The threads are then tightened to lift and reposition the skin. The sutures dissolve over time, leaving behind a network of collagen fibers that provide support and structure to the skin.

PDO thread lifting is a great option for those looking for a more natural, non-surgical approach to facial rejuvenation. It can provide a subtle lift that looks and feels natural, with minimal downtime and no scarring. It is important to note, however, that results can vary from person to person, and the effects of the procedure may not be permanent.

Threads remain in the tissue for approximately 6 to 8 months up to 1,5 years. Additional threads can be placed at any time. This minimally invasive procedure can be easily combined with other procedures such as hyaluronic acid filler & botulinum toxin.
